The different ways that news articles are distributed and look at the differences between them and how they target different audiences by looking at the front covers and the way that they make the news look. The three ways that I will be analysis they will be to look at a print newspaper, tv news and an online article.
daily mail
This was the front cover of the daily mail on the day after the result. From the picture the first thing that you get is that they are happy with the result that happened they do this by the large image in the middle being of Nigel Farage celebrating the result this is important because it shows what side the daily mail is on.
They have also made it clear by the title that they have used they have used it as a way the “we’re out” almost saying it like they are finally free and don’t need to worry about it anymore and that it is a good thing to happen this shows that they believe that it was the right idea and they agree with what happened. They have labelled the picture as him being overjoyed this this showing that they know that he is happy with the result.
They have chosen to pick the fact that they are aiming the newspaper at and you know that the people that are reading this are going to be support this and more people are likely to read it.
One of these smaller headline is has “after 43 years UK freed from shackles of EU” this shows that they are feeling free after and that they don’t have to worry about it no more an that they feel like a weight has been lifted off their shoulders.
Huffington post
This is front cover of the online article from the Huffington post this is aimed towards a younger age group they have made sure they make this title will make them feel like they are on their side and so that it is relatable to what they are thinking and knowing what side they are on.
They have a sub headline has the words "thanks Granny" this is used as a bit of comedy effect towards and help to reach their target audience by using the fact that a lot of the people that voted to leave is from the older generation and try to make them feel like they are on the same side.
They have put embedded tweets onto the website this is good because they are showing the younger audience what people are saying on social media so showing that the younger audience are also involved in this situation and showing that they aren't the only people in this age group and showing that a lot of people are talking about it.
The paragraphs are put into smaller paragraphs so that they are easier read for the age group that they are aiming for this make it so that this means that they can read it while they are on the go this is good because then they are more likely to read on their phone as they are on the go rather than reading it in the paper as they in the house.
The next thing that they use is the google trends they have used this because then they will be able to show people what other people were asking straight after the vote happened this is good because it show what everybody was thinking about
Good morning Britain
It is a very informal show which means that they used the headline "bid to save Dave" this shows that it is informal as they are calling the prime mister by a nickname this shows that it isn't as formal as a newspaper but reaches their target audience.
They have they have put the statics at the bottom of the page so that people that are watching it know what is going and so the votes went and the percentages. As 48.3% voted to in and 51.7% leave the EU.
They have also put the social media links in to follow this is because the target audience of the show will want to follow them on social media and will want to keep updated with what is going on with the vote and keep updated with the news
Ways news is delivered and consumed and how it has changed
There has been a change in the ways that news articles have been delivered and consumed as the rise in online news has been massive. This I had meant that a lot of the big print based companies have gone from both print and online. This is has meant that companies have changed the way that they present the articles. For the online they have shorted there articles are a lot shorter. They have done this because people online like shorter pieces of information so that they don't need to spend much time looking through it and getting all the key points they need.
